This site and the services described on it are run by Daniel Bilsborough (ABN 30 460 725 012), based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and how to contact me about any of it. Personal information is handled in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What this site collects
- Enquiries and bookings. When you send an enquiry or book a course seat, I collect what you provide: your name, email address, company, and whatever you write in the form.
- Payments. Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and are never stored on this site or my systems.
- Email list. If you sign up to my emails, I store your email address. Signup is double opt-in, and every email includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
- Site analytics. The site sets a first-party cookie and records the pages you visit so I can see how visitors use the site. That data stays with me. There is no third-party advertising tracking on this site.
QuickBooks Online integration
Parts of my own bookkeeping and reporting run on an integration with QuickBooks Online, connected through Intuit's API. This section describes exactly how that connection handles data.
- What is accessed. The integration reads accounting data from a connected QuickBooks Online company: invoices, customers, transactions, and the chart of accounts. Access is read-oriented, for producing bookkeeping records and reports.
- What it is used for. That data is used solely for the bookkeeping and reporting of the connected business. It is not sold, not shared with third parties, not used for advertising, and not used to train AI models.
- Where it lives. API credentials are held in restricted configuration files on private systems and are never exposed publicly. Data retrieved through the API is processed and stored on the same private systems, under the same restrictions.
- How long it is kept. Accounting data is retained only as long as the bookkeeping records it supports require, consistent with Australian record-keeping obligations, and is deleted when no longer needed.
- Disconnecting. The QuickBooks connection can be revoked at any time through Intuit. Revoking it ends API access immediately. Stored copies of previously retrieved data are deleted on request to the contact address below.
Third-party services
The site and business use a small set of services to operate: Stripe for payments, Postmark for transactional email, Cloudflare for hosting, Intuit for the QuickBooks Online integration described above, and Zoom for delivering live sessions. Each handles data under its own privacy policy, and I only pass them what their job requires.
Access, correction, and deletion
You can ask me what personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email the address below and I will respond directly. If you have a privacy complaint and my response does not resolve it, you can raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with an updated date.
