The Claude Code Course - Build Your Own Agent Operating System for Your Business
Build something with me in half a day. You walk out with your own agent operating system running on your machine: an agent that knows your business, remembers every client and every note, and builds what you ask for.
Written for owners who have never opened Terminal. That is the point of the course. We start with the black window and how to open it, and we finish with a system that runs a business.
What you walk out with
At the end of the four hours there is a system running on your own machine, in folders you own, with your business already loaded into it.
It has read how the business makes money, who the clients are, how you talk, and what is on this quarter. Every answer starts from that, so you stop re-explaining yourself.
Every client, every project, every note lives in files the agent reads before it answers. Ask what happened with a client eighteen months ago and the answer comes back with the detail.
Emails, proposals, follow-ups, quotes. Your voice is written down in the system, so what comes back sounds like you wrote it on a good day.
Drop in a spreadsheet or an export and ask what changed, what is working, and where the money actually went.
Ask for a dashboard, a review page, a small internal site, a report that runs every Monday. You describe what you want and watch it get built.
This practice runs on exactly this system. One person, no staff. Client work, the numbers, the ads, the emails, and the pages on this website all run through that system.
The five modules
Half a day of hands-on Claude Code training, taught in the order the system actually gets built. Your screen is shared the whole way, so everything on this list is built on your own machine while we go.
The Terminal, from zero
Never opened Terminal? Start here. What the black window is, how to open it, how to move around, how to log in to another machine over SSH, then installing Claude Code and loading it up. Nobody is expected to arrive knowing any of this. By the end of the morning the scary black window is your favourite tool on the computer.
The memory system
Plain Markdown files, nothing exotic. A CLAUDE.md that teaches your agent how your business works, plus a notes file for every client and every project. This is where the agent stops being a chatbot and starts being your operator. Everything sits in files you own, on your machine, readable in any text editor.
Your operator menu
A menu that lives in your .profile, so you open Terminal and the whole system is one keypress away. Clients, projects, jobs you run every week, all on the list. Small thing to build, and it changes how often the system actually gets used.
Build pages and local sites
Point the agent at a page and it gets built. Landing pages, a dashboard for the week, a review page for your numbers, an internal site that lays your information out exactly how you want to see it and how you want to show it to other people.
Run the business through the agent
The part that earns the fee back. Drop your numbers in and ask the questions you would normally save for your accountant. Summarise a contract or a long report before the meeting. Draft the email, the proposal, the awkward reply. Ask for a straight second opinion on a decision, with the whole business context already in the room.
Your agent, from any device
The system runs on your own machine, in folders you own, and that machine stays where you left it. The agent keeps working there whether you are sitting in front of it or not.
You reach that machine from wherever you are. From a phone on the train, an iPad on the couch, or a laptop in a hotel room, you log in over SSH and ask for what you need. The answer comes back from the same system, with your whole business already loaded into it. That log-in is the skill from Module 1.
I run mine from my phone through ShellDrop, an iOS terminal app I built for exactly this.
Who the course is for
- Founders, CEOs, and owners of businesses with roughly 10 to 200 staff.
- People who want more leverage out of the same week without adding a hire.
- Anyone who has used ChatGPT or Claude in a browser and wants the version that knows their business.
- People who have never opened Terminal and are fine being shown.
- Developers after a coding tutorial or advanced agent architecture.
- Enterprise teams who need an org-wide rollout plan.
- Anyone who would like to watch. The four hours are hands on keyboard, start to finish.
Developers and technical leads tend to get more out of the agent operator guide and the Chief Agent Officer page.
Anthropic's free academy, and this course
Anthropic runs a free academy for Claude Code and it is good. It teaches the tool properly, at your own pace, for nothing. If learning the tool by yourself is what you are after, start there and keep your $2,000.
This course builds your system. Your business goes into the files, your clients and projects go into the memory, your first page gets built while you watch, and the questions you ask are about your own numbers. Two seats, four hours, and me on the call with your screen shared the whole way.
The tool is the same tool for everyone. The system on the other end of the half day is yours.
Two ways to book
A scheduled cohort with one other person, or a private session one-on-one. Same four hours, same system on your machine at the end.
Questions before you commit? Email [email protected] and you will get a straight answer.
Who is teaching
I am Daniel. Enterprise tech background, Hewlett-Packard and then Siemens in London on the BBC account, followed by fifteen years running my own businesses across photography, education, marketing, and web. These days I am the marketing and AI lead at Northbase, and I run an AI advisory practice on my own.
Everything in that practice runs on the system taught in this course. That system is the reason one person can carry client work, ads, tracking, internal tools, and writing without staff. I teach what is running in production this week, and the course changes as the system does.
Where the teaching comes from
I have also run DJB Photography School in Melbourne since 2011. Students arrive having never taken the camera off auto, and three hours later they are shooting in full manual. Different subject, same job: someone with no technical background, a technical craft, and one session to get from nothing to working on their own.
Daniel is a master teacher. Though he has developed a successful format for his course, he really makes an effort to change his tact for the motivations of his students.
Amber, 7 April 2026
Daniel has the amazing gift and ability to make technical information easy to understand. He is completely in tune with your level of experience, and explains things very well and at the pace that suits you.
Jennifer, 5 September 2025
Both are Google reviews of the photography course. This course runs the same way, with Terminal in place of the camera.
Questions people ask before booking
Do I need to be technical?
No. The course is built for owners who have never opened Terminal. Module 1 starts with opening the black window for the first time and finishes with Claude Code installed and running. Nobody is expected to arrive knowing anything.
What do I need on the day?
A laptop, the Zoom link, and four hours where nobody needs you. A Mac is the smoothest path and what the session is built around. Claude Code also runs on Windows through WSL, so mention Windows when you book and we sort your setup at the start of the session.
What do I walk away with?
Claude Code running on your own machine, a memory system in plain files that teaches the agent your business, a Terminal menu that opens all of that with one keypress, and something you built during the session. Plus the way of working that keeps the system useful once the Zoom call ends.
Where does my business information live?
In plain text files in folders on your own machine, which you can read, edit, back up, or delete. When you ask the agent to do something, the relevant parts of those files go to Anthropic to answer the request, the same way any AI tool works. Nothing gets published anywhere, and you decide how much of the business goes into the system.
What if I get stuck after the session?
Reply to any email from me and ask. For a bigger piece of work, the advisory engagements are the deeper version of the same help.
Why only two seats?
The session is hands-on and everyone is building on their own machine. Two is the number where everybody gets time on screen, gets their setup checked, and gets something working before the four hours are up.
Can I attend from outside Australia?
Yes. The course runs on Zoom, and every date on this page shows the start time in your own timezone underneath the Melbourne time. If none of the scheduled dates land at a workable hour, the private session runs at a time you choose.
What is the refund policy?
Full refund up to 7 days before the session. Inside 7 days, the seat transfers to a future cohort, or a private session moves to another date. With two seats in a session, a late cancellation takes a seat somebody else could have used.
Is there a Claude Code certification?
There is no formal Claude Code certification from Anthropic, and this course does not issue one. You leave with your own agent operating system for your business, something you built during the session, and the skill to keep building. A signed completion note is available on request for anyone who needs one for L&D records.
Half a day, two seats, and your own system running at the end.
