AI agency services: an agent that builds your custom business software

I set up AI agents inside businesses that build custom apps to do the job of their subscription software. It's the work an AI agency or an AI automation agency does, run by one person. The agent lives on the business's own machines, builds each app around the way that business already works, and stays on afterwards to change the app whenever the business asks.

Who it's for
Founders, CEOs and business owners, anywhere in Australia.
Format
An initial audit of the software the business pays for, then an agent set up on the business's own machine, then custom apps built and swapped in one at a time.
Includes
The subscription audit, the agent setup, the apps, and the agent staying on to change them when the business asks.
Ownership
The code, the data and the agent's instructions all belong to the business.
Price
From $10,000 AUD. The actual cost is provided after the initial audit.

I'm based in Melbourne, and the person you speak to is the person who sets up the agent, scopes the apps and checks the work.

Custom business software that adapts to the business

Subscription software, from the CRM to the business management software that runs the jobs and the invoices, is built for thousands of businesses at once. Its screens, fields and steps are the vendor's best guess at how a typical business works, and each business that buys it shapes its own processes to fit. Over a few years that adds up to a lot of the way a business runs being decided by its software.

Custom business software works the other way around. The software adapts to the business. The quote looks the way your quotes look, the job moves through the stages your jobs actually go through, and the report shows the numbers you check on a Monday. Nothing in it is there because another business needed it.

The agent that built it stays with the business. When the business changes, with a new service, a new person or a new way of doing a job, the software changes with it the same week. You ask the agent, it makes the change, and you approve it. You update it whenever you want, on your own timeline, without waiting for a vendor's next release.

The subscription savings are real, and they come on top of that.

How it works

  1. The subscription list. We go through every piece of software the business pays for each month, what it costs, and which parts of it actually get used.
  2. The shortlist. Each product gets a keep or replace call. The ones that tend to be worth replacing are tools where the business uses a small slice of a large product, or pays per seat for something simple.
  3. The agent. An agent is set up on the business's own computer, with the business's facts, rules and way of writing held in plain files you can open. The setup work is the same as on the AI agent setup page.
  4. The apps. The agent builds the first replacement, and you use it on real work alongside the old product until it does the job. Then the subscription is cancelled and the agent moves to the next one on the list.
  5. Changes, from then on. When the business needs something different, you ask the agent in plain English. It reads the code it wrote, makes the change and shows it to you before it goes live.

What an AI automation agency sets up here

Most of the automation in this work is the agent itself. It runs on a computer the business owns that stays switched on, such as a Mac mini, and it has its own email address, so work can be sent to it like a colleague and it can reply. It only gets the accounts the business decides to hand over, one at a time, and any of them can be taken back the same afternoon.

Alongside the apps, the agent takes on the office work that repeats and follows a rule:

  • Reading the spreadsheet or bank export the business already keeps and turning it into a Monday morning page of what came in and what is owed.
  • Drafting quotes from the job details, then following up quotes and overdue invoices on schedule.
  • Writing the emails, replies and listings that repeat, in the business's own wording.
  • Keeping a record of every job, client and decision in plain files the business can search later.

The AI model behind the agent can be changed at any time, between Claude, Codex and Grok, and the agent keeps the same identity, email address and memory of the business. The instructions and the business's facts sit in files on its own machine, so every model that follows reads the same files.

Custom app development by an agent

The apps are custom app development in the usual sense: an internal tool, a web app, a dashboard, or an iPhone or Mac app, built for one business. The agent that wrote the app stays inside the business, so the app can keep changing with it at the pace of a conversation.

Typical candidates are a custom CRM, booking and quoting tools, client portals, job and stock tracking, internal dashboards, form and approval flows, reporting, and dictation or note tools. Which ones earn a place is decided against the specific business.

What I've had agents build for my own business

My own business runs on an agent system built mainly on Claude Code, and everything on this page is something I run myself first. These are tools the agents built and maintain for me:

  • Mr Sable, my personal assistant app on iPhone and Mac. I send the agents work through it and read back what they've done.
  • Sana, the app that runs my house. It shows a floor plan on a wall-mounted iPad, and tapping a room controls its lights, heating and cooling.
  • ShellDrop, an iPhone and iPad terminal app for reaching the agents from anywhere. It's on the App Store, and it runs on the iPhone Duo too (app design for iPhone Duo).
  • Lead tracking on this website, a small first-party tool that records which pages a visitor read before getting in touch.
  • Private review pages for approving ads, videos and page changes, built fresh for each job.

The setup behind them is written up in the AI agent operating system I run my business on. These are my own tools. Client work under this service will be added here as it's done.

Custom software development in Melbourne, owned by the business

This is custom software development, or bespoke software development, in the usual sense: software written for one business. I'm based in Melbourne and work with businesses anywhere in Australia, on web apps and on iPhone and Mac app development. Everything the agent builds is held in the business's own accounts: the code in a repository you own, the data on your machines or your hosting, the agent's instructions in plain text files. Nothing is locked to me or to one AI vendor, and the model underneath the agent can be swapped as better ones arrive.

How the AI agency work runs

The work starts with the initial audit, on a call. We go through every subscription the business pays for, what each one costs and which parts of it get used, and I come back with the list of apps worth replacing and the actual cost of the work.

Then the agent is set up on the business's own computer, with you watching, so you can see where everything lives. The first app gets built and runs alongside the product it replaces until it does the job on real work. Each app after that follows the same pattern, one at a time, and nothing is cancelled until its replacement has done the work.

Changes after that are requests to the agent in plain English. It reads the code it wrote, makes the change and shows it to you before it goes live. Where the business would rather learn to run the agent itself, the Claude Code course covers the same setup in half a day, and the AI agent setup page covers the agent on its own, without the apps.

Cost

Agent services start at $10,000. The actual cost will be provided after the initial audit, so that all of the business's internal systems are catered for.

Start with the initial audit.

Fill in the contact form with a line about what your business does. I'll reply to book a call where we go through the software you pay for, and afterwards you get the list of apps worth replacing and the actual cost of the work.

Questions

Is this custom software development?

Yes. The agent writes custom business software for one business: web apps, internal tools, a custom CRM, or iPhone and Mac apps. The agent then stays on to keep changing the software as the business changes.

Who owns the apps the agent builds?

The business does. The code, the data and the agent's instructions all sit in files on the business's own machines and accounts.

What happens when an app needs changing?

The agent that built it stays with the business, so a change is a request to the agent in plain English. It reads the code it wrote, makes the change and shows the result for approval.

Does every subscription get replaced?

No. The audit decides it product by product. Software that holds legal or tax records, or that is mostly a network of other people, usually stays. The ones worth replacing tend to be tools the business uses a small part of, every month.

Is this an AI agency?

It's the work an AI agency or AI automation agency does, run by one person. I set up the agent, scope the apps and check the work myself, and there is no team or handoff to junior staff.

How much do agent services cost?

They start at $10,000. The actual cost is provided after the initial audit, so that all of the business's internal systems are catered for.

Do I need technical skills?

No. The agent is instructed in plain English, and the setup is done on your machine with you watching so you can see where everything lives.
